Welcome to Kendal’s Only Indoor Charity Play Centre!
Outside In Needs Your Support! Our play centre is facing significant financial challenges amid the rising cost of living and increasing minimum wage pressures. As Kendal’s only indoor charity play centre, we are dedicated to serving our community.
We’re proud to offer a vibrant “mini market town” experience, complete with shops, a café, and a soft play area modeled after Kendal Castle. Our facilities also include a Changing Places toilet, an integrated quiet room, and a café—all thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and staff.
Open seven days a week, our mission is to make a difference in the lives of children and families across the South Lakes. We aim to welcome 16,000 visits from 0–4-year-olds, 9,000 from 5–11-year-olds, 804 from 12–19-year-olds, and over 10,500 from adults each year.
In an area where 2,000 children live below the poverty line and child deprivation levels are high, our centre plays a crucial role. We offer funded sessions for children with special needs, families affected by poverty, children in foster care, and those facing mental health challenges. Additionally, we provide support for adoption and supervised visits, host community groups, and collaborate with local charities such as Sandgate School and Oaklea Trust.
